In 2009 26th of February at 11 o'clock there was a meeting at the Western University on the 17th anniversary of Khojali massacre. The director assistant of the History Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the candidate of history science Jabi Bahramov was the first to speak in the meeting. The leadingmember of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the lecturer of Azerbaijan State Cultural and Art University, poet – dramatist Ramiz Heydar who was granted by president spoke after one minutes' silence for the innocent sacrifices of Khojali massacre. The real witnesses of Khojali massacre and residents of Sumgait, Lamiya, who is 17 and her grandfather Ali Ayyubov, the main produser of Azerbaijan National Television Shakir Eminbeyli, operator Seyidaga Movsumlu, the editor of the program “Azerbaijan - Gobustan” which is on Ukrain's Sevastopol State Teleradio, Habib Aliyev, poet –publisist Latifa Nuran reported in the meeting. Many touching scenes about Khojali massacre were demonstrated during the meeting. The photo exposition by an artist Tahir Jafarov and the picture exposition “Khojali, my pain” by I-XI form pupils of the Junior school attached to Western University were also demonstrated during the meeting. There was a literal composition by pupils at the end of the meeting. The administration of Western University, professors, teachers and students also participated in the meeting. The meeting was lightened by Mass Media.
