On the 28th of April, 2009, a meeting was held with the poetess Latifa Nuran at the secondary school attached to the Western University. The students of VIa, VIIa, VIIr1, VIIr2, VIIIa, IXa, Xr formsç teaching stuff and the invited guests participated in the day of poetry. The opening speech was devoted to Latifa Nuran’s life and creative activity. The poetress who is the member of “Azerbaijan Community of Writers”, awarded by “Golden pen”talked about her poems named “My love – my sorrow” published in 1997, novels and stories named “Lonely shades”. Afterwards the poetress recited a range of poems from her book “The picture of being without you” devoted to the martyrs.the poems were greeted with respect and applouses by the students. Then she recited the poem “Khojali pain, Khojali burnt” which was greeted with a storm of applause as well. Later the students recited a range of poems by latifa Nuran. Ali Amirov the student of VIIa form recited the poem “The smile of spring” with high spirit. The student of VIIr2 recited the poem by the poetress translated into Russian. The winner of the contest “Azerbaijan, my motherland” held in the school the student of the VIIr2 Emchiyeva Diana, belarussian by nature was remembered with the report to the belarussian radio. At the end of the day of poetry the students asked questions to the poetress and she answered the interesting of them. Finally, Vasila Khalilova, the teacher of Azebaijani language and Literature made a speech. She thanked the poetress on behalt of school authority, teaching staff and students. The photos of the poetress, teachers and students were taken as a memory. The guest gave some of her book with the best wishes to the teachers as a present.
