Museum of Tiny Books.

The pupils of 6th and 7th forms of Western Junior school attached to Western University visited the Museum of Tiny Books. The museum was founded by Zarifa Salahova – the merited worker of Azerbaijan culture. There are 4350 tiny books issued in 62 countries of the world in this museum. The tiniest of the books (size 2x2 mm) belongs to the Japan Publishing House “Toppan”. The mini-books, mikro-books, rare books and religious books were of great interest for the pupils. 19.01.2010 | The Anniversary of the Bloody January.

The pupils of the Western Junior school attached to Western University visited the «Alley of shahids», which is the Worship place of our people and put the flowers on the shahids' graves.The pupils were told about events of this bloody crime taken place from january 19 to 20 in 1990 by soviet forces.This heroic deed is always in our memory.

Boarding-school Visit.

On the 25 december the pupuils of the 8th and 9th forms of the school attached to Western University were at the boarding-school, which is situated in the settlement of Sarai. There are 145 pupils of different age at this school.Among them you can see invalids and children who suffer from different deseases. Our pupils observed their rooms,classes and counteens,they also saw their models of needlework.At the end of this programme the concert took place.

New Year Performance!!!

The pupils of the 1R and 2R forms prepared the New Year Performance. The pupils of the 2R showed the old story “Morozko” in new interpretation. Then they made a journey to the fair tails world with the pupils of the 1R form. >>Visit Gallery<<

Azerbaijan History Museum and the House-Museum of Haji-Zeynalabdin Taghiyev. The pupils of Western Junior School attached to Western University have recently visited the Azerbaijan History Museum and the House-Museum of Haji-Zeynalabdin Taghiyev. Both museums are located in the same building which used to be H.Z.Taghiyev's property. The building was constructed at the end of the XIX century by a Polish architect on the order of H.Z.Taghiyev, a famous oil millionere and recpected by Azeri peoople for his charity. They say that Taghiyev built this building for Sona Khanum, his wife. The architecture of the building is very beautiful. The house-Museum was of great interest to the children. The guide told that everything in the house was kept as in H.Z.Taghiyev's life. In the History Museum all centuries of our history are brightly revived with splendid exhibits. The display of life in the Azikh Cave and the description of the Qobustan monument were of special interest The children examined the exhibits attentively and asked qeustions. >>Visit Gallery<<

Uzeyir Hajibayov Museum.

In October-November 2009 the pupils of Western Junior School attached to Western University visited the house-museum of Uzeyir Hajibayov, the founder of Azerbaijan classical music. Uzeyir Hajibayov lived and created in this house in 1915-1942. Everything in the house has not been changed since then. 25.11.2009 | Science Museum.

Unique Science Museum after Hassanbay Ordubadi where have been taking place investigations became the place of holding of the interactive lesson about “Fish” and “Reptiles” items for the students of the 9th grade of our school. There are presented the collection of the minerals, some species, involving into the “Red Book”, such as disappearing and rarely, that proves the diversity of animals of our republic.

11.11.09 | Lesson in the anatomy museum

28.09.2009 | Congratulations!

In 2008/2009 school year Aliyev Sanan Isa oglu successfully finished the XI form of the secondary school attached to Western University, received 675 points during the entrance examination and he will get the Prezidental scholarship. We congratulate him in this connection. More info>>>

13.05.2009 | The ”Qalaqapi” Tournament.

The team of our school “Western Junior” has been involved into the”Qalaqapi” Team s Tournament of Azerbaijan.The qualified Tournament of our team started last week. There are 10 participants: 3 of them have categories, 4 players included into the rating list of Azerbaijan. The ending results of our Tournament will be published up to 10 May on the school s site.

02.05.2009 | Lesson on the Teritory of the Shirvan Reservation.

On Saturday the interactive lesson about odd and even hoofed animals was held on the territory of the Shirvan reservation, which is situated in the half-desert zone of Salyan region. Built in the 1969 this reservation had about 77 species of antelopes. Amount of the animals is increased up to 8 thousands. There is largest area of the antelopes in the Caucasus. The territory is organized into the reservation in 2005 by the Presidents edict. More info>>>

28.04.2009 | Meeting with the poetess Latifa Nuran.

On the 28th of April, 2009, a meeting was held with the poetess Latifa Nuran at the secondary school attached to the Western University. The students of VIa, VIIa, VIIr1, VIIr2, VIIIa, IXa, Xr formsç teaching stuff and the invited guests participated in the day of poetry. 08.04.2009 | Competition on the Pronunciation of the French Language.

On April 8 At Western Junior school attached to Western University there was the competition on the pronunciation of the French language. The main task of the studying of French on the first level it is developing of oralspeech and correcting of pronunciation helps to make clear the level of taking the language. 12.03.2009 | Azerbaijan – My Native Land!

The competition “Azerbaijan – My Native Land” announced as far back as in December last year was continued on 12 March devoted to Novruz bayram. The competition included many districts of the Republic: Shaki, Zakataly, Guba, Nakhchivan, Lenkoran, Ismailly, Garabagh and the city of Baku. The pupils carried out a big research work on History, Geography, Ethnography, flora and fauna of separate regions of our vast country. More info>>>

28.02.2009 | Silver in II Republic Sports Competition “Qalaqapı”!

On the 28 th Febrary-1st of March there was the II Republic Sports Competition “Qalaqapı” (Qo) between the juniors and teen of different ages. There were our students from “Qalaqapı” section. In group under 12 years between girls the second place took this student of the 7-th form Emchieva Diana. Between the boys in the group under 14 years was the 6th form student Aliyev Yusif. In 2009 26th of February at 11 o'clock there was a meeting at the Western University on the 17th anniversary of Khojali massacre. The director assistant of the History Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the candidate of history science Jabi Bahramov was the first to speak in the meeting.More info>>>

21.02.2009 | English Language Party.

On the 20th of February in the Western Junior School there was an English Language Party. The students of VII Russian forms took part in this event. The program contained the poems and the songs, the part from W.Shakespeare's tragedy «Romeo and Juliet», the very interesting game: «Recognize the song words» the song by Solovier Sodoy «Moscow suburb nights» and others. On the 13th of February the students of the 4r and 4a forms visited the evolution museum near Baku State University. The students have just finished the learning of the difficult theme “Human body” at their lessons. They completed their knowledge by getting a lot of information about the beginning the life on Earth, about evolution of plants and animals. Go is a game of the Gods.The game was created about 4 thousands years ago and was included into complete of the 7 compulsory skills of samurays. The I st Academy of Go was organized in Japan in 16 th century, but the Europeans heard about it only in the 19th century and since then the rules have been of the game unchanging.Now both in Japan and in Korea are counted about 10 mln players More info>>>

We had a semifinal game on the 30 January at our school. And on the 2nd of February there was the final part of the game “Behind the 7 seals”. We found out the winners of this game.
